Our Embassy

The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in Thailand was established on 30 January 2018, with H.E. Mohamed Nasheed serving as the first Ambassador-designate, arriving in Bangkok on 28 May 2018. The official opening of the Embassy took place on 16 October 2019, officiated by Foreign Minister H.E. Abdulla Shahid.

H.E. Mohamed Jinah, the second Ambassador of the Maldives in Thailand, presented his credentials to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on 24 October 2020. In addition to its bilateral and consular functions, the Embassy is responsible for multilateral work through various organizations in Thailand. Notably, our Deputy Ambassador, Huda Ali Shareef, was appointed in January 2020 as the first Permanent Representative of the Maldives to UNESCAP.
